Yorumsuz Türkçe Çeviri

The Yorumsuz Türkçe Çeviri (YTC), published in 2024, is a modern translation of the Scriptures into contemporary Turkish. The project takes an open and collaborative approach, being derived from the World English Bible (WEB) and made available as an open-source biblical resource for Turkish speakers around the world.

The translation philosophy, suggested by the very name — yorumsuz, meaning without commentary — seeks a direct text without interpretive notes or explanatory paraphrase, allowing reading to take place with minimal editorial interference. Since it is based on the World English Bible, a modern public translation in English derived from the American Standard Version, the YTC offers an accessible Turkish aligned with contemporary Protestant translations, maintaining clear correspondence with the underlying original Hebrew and Greek.

Turkey, a Muslim-majority country with a small historic Christian presence (Armenians, Greeks, Syrians) and a growing Turkish-speaking evangelical community, has demand for modern Bible translations in standard Turkish. The YTC complements established translations such as the Kutsal Kitap Yeni Çeviri, offering a free-use alternative geared toward digital evangelism, personal study, and unrestricted distribution, particularly useful in contexts where Christian resources face limitations.

The text is distributed as open source, free of traditional copyright restrictions, reflecting the open heritage of the World English Bible from which it derives. It may be reproduced, modified, and redistributed for ministerial, academic, or personal purposes without prior authorization.
