Uwspółcześniona Biblia Gdańska

The Uwspółcześniona Biblia Gdańska (UBG, "Updated Gdańsk Bible") is a Polish version built on the classic Biblia Gdańska of 1632, for centuries the reference Bible of Polish Protestants. The present text is the work of Fundacja Wrota Nadziei (the Gate of Hope Foundation), which is credited as translator and rights holder, and eBible.org dates it to 2018.

The method is an update, not a fresh translation: the old grammar and vocabulary of the 1632 edition are carried into modern Polish, so that readers do not stumble over forms that have fallen out of use.

A word on scope. It covers all 66 books, but the sources we checked do not describe the underlying text or the reasoning behind each adjustment, so we claim nothing beyond that. For close word study, compare it with the original Biblia Gdańska, which is also on Midvash. Because of its license, this version has no audio here.

It is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-ND 4.0). You may share it in any format as long as the copyright and source stay attached and no word or punctuation mark of the Scriptures is changed. For Polish readers, it offers the 1632 heritage in a language that reads without friction.
