The Revised West Version (Ko e Tohi Tapu Kātoa, the whole Holy Bible) is a Bible in Tongan, the Polynesian language of the Kingdom of Tonga. It belongs to the family of the translation made by Wesleyan missionaries in the nineteenth century, whose edition was placed under the editorial care of the Rev. Thomas West; the New Testament appeared in that form from 1860 on. That is where the West in the title comes from.

This edition is a revision of that classic text credited to James Baxley, with digital editions by Michael Johnson. The aim is not to reinvent the Tongan Bible but to keep the text churches recognize, with the formal, solemn register of an older missionary translation.

For Tongan readers it is the whole of Scripture in a traditional text, familiar to anyone who grew up in church. The honest limit is age: the spelling still joins words that current writing separates, such as ʻae and ʻoe for ʻa e and ʻo e, and the vocabulary belongs to another era. It also helps to know this is an independent revision, separate from the editions prepared by the Bible Society.

The text is in the public domain, free to read, copy and share without restriction. That is what lets Midvash offer it complete and free.
