O Livro

O Livro (OL) is a Bible translation in European Portuguese published by Biblica (formerly the International Bible Society) in 2000. It aims to convey the meaning of the original texts in clear, natural language for today's reader, favoring understanding over word-for-word correspondence.

The translation follows the Portuguese of Portugal and is widely used for personal and devotional reading, as well as in outreach settings where a clear text helps first-time readers of the Bible.
