Psalms 67

May the peoples praise you

ay God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us—a ²so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations.b ³May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.

⁴May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth.c ⁵May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. ⁶The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us.d

⁷May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.

Commentary

Psalm 67 is a brief, radiant prayer for God’s blessing and a vision of global worship. The psalmist asks God to shine His face upon Israel so that His saving power may be known among all nations. It echoes the Aaronic blessing from Numbers 6:24-26 and anticipates the universal reign
