Bokun Bible (Belarusian)

The Bokun Bible (Біблія (пераклад А. Бокуна)) is the work of a Minsk pastor, Antoni Bokun, of the Church of John the Forerunner of Christians of Evangelical Faith. He began in 2011 working directly from the Hebrew and Greek text and announced the completion of the whole Bible in December 2023, twelve years later. The books came out gradually, which is why the copyright runs from 2016 to 2023.

The most visible mark is the spelling. Bokun writes in taraškievica, the classical Belarusian orthography, rather than the official norm taught in schools: hence forms like сьвет and праведнасьці, where the soft sign marks the softened pronunciation. The divine name appears in capitals, ГОСПАД, in the manner of Bibles that set apart the tetragrammaton.

For Belarusian readers it is a recent Bible, made from the original languages and freely available. The honest limit: it is the work of a single translator, still new, without decades of church use to test it. And the classical spelling, dear to many readers, can feel strange to someone who only knows the school norm.

That is why Midvash presents it exactly as published, with no corrections or adaptations. The eBible page adds one more condition: no commercial use. So on Midvash it is for free reading only, outside the public API, audio and AI features.
