Gilead

Gilead appears in 86 verses of the Bible, from Genesis to Zechariah.

Gilead was the fertile hill country east of the Jordan, named for Jacob's "heap of witness," famous for its balm and home of Jephthah and Elijah.

So Jacob took all his possessions with him and crossed the Euphrates River, heading for the hill country of Gilead.
