Luke 12:49

⁴⁹I am come to cast fire on the earth; and what will I, but that it be kindled?ab

Luke 12 is a dense collection of Jesus’ teaching on the priority of the kingdom over earthly anxiety. He warns the disciples against the leaven of the Pharisees (hypocrisy), calls them to fearless confession, and tells the parable of the rich fool who stores up treasure for himself
