2 Samuel 7:16

¹⁶And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.g

2 Samuel 7 records the hinge moment in the Davidic covenant. King David, settled in his palace, proposes building a house for the Lord. The prophet Nathan initially approves, but God redirects the plan entirely: David will not build God a house; rather, God will build David a house
