Exodus 33:17

¹⁷And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Even this thing which thou hast spoken I do; for thou hast found grace in Mine eyes, and I know thee by name.'g

In **Exodus 33**, following the golden calf idolatry, God declares He will not go with Israel into the Promised Land, but will send an angel instead. This news deeply grieves the people. Moses intercedes passionately, seeking God's continued presence and glory. God relents, affirming His unique relationship with Moses and promising His presence, though He only reveals His goodness and back, not His full face, to Moses. The chapter highlights the profound tension between God's holiness and His covenant faithfulness, and the indispensable role of a mediator.
