Zechariah 2:8-9

⁸For the LORD of Armies says: ‘For honor he has sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.c

⁹For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a plunder to those who served them; and you will know that the LORD of Armies has sent me.

Zechariah 2 presents the prophet's third vision: a man with a measuring line surveying Jerusalem for reconstruction. The vision pivots dramatically from a physical city being measured to a spiritual promise of God's unlimited presence. Jerusalem will be a city without walls because
