Ezra 7:25

²⁵You, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God that is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges who may judge all the people who are beyond the River, who all know the laws of your God; and teach him who doesn’t know them.

Ezra 7 marks a dramatic pivot in the post-exilic story. Nearly sixty years after the temple was rebuilt (Ezra 6), a new figure arrives: Ezra the scribe, a priest with the law of God in his heart and the Persian king's decree in his hand. The chapter traces his genealogy back to Aaro
