Mark 1:10

¹⁰As Jesus came up out of the water, he saw the heavens splitting apart and the Holy Spirit descending on him like a dove.

Mark 1 launches the Gospel with explosive urgency. John the Baptist prepares the way in the wilderness, baptizing and proclaiming one greater to come. Jesus appears, is baptized, and immediately driven into the wilderness for testing. He then bursts onto the scene in Galilee, callin
