Matthew 4:10

¹⁰Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.h

Matthew 4 opens with Jesus being led into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, a direct confrontation that echoes Israel's testing in the desert. After forty days of fasting, Jesus resists each temptation by quoting Scripture, demonstrating his faithfulness where Israel failed
