Exodus 33:12

¹²Moses said to the Lord, “See, you say to me, ‘Bring up this people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’b

In **Exodus 33**, following the golden calf idolatry, God declares He will not go with Israel into the Promised Land, but will send an angel instead. This news deeply grieves the people. Moses intercedes passionately, seeking God's continued presence and glory. God relents, affirming His unique relationship with Moses and promising His presence, though He only reveals His goodness and back, not His full face, to Moses.
