Genesis 45:7-8

⁷And God sent me before, that you may be preserved upon the earth, and may have food to live.

⁸Not by your counsel was I sent hither, but by the will of God: who hath made me as it were a father to Pharao, and lord of his whole house, and governor in all the land of Egypt.

Genesis 45 marks the emotional climax of the Joseph narrative, as Joseph finally reveals his true identity to his brothers. Overwhelmed by emotion, Joseph assures them that God orchestrated their past actions for a greater good—to preserve life. He then instructs them to bring their father Jacob and all their households to Egypt, promising them the best of the land. The chapter concludes with the brothers returning to Canaan, bearing gifts and the astonishing news of Joseph's survival and power, bringing Jacob immense joy and renewed hope.
