James 4:1

¹Whence [are] wars and fightings among you? not thence — out of your passions, that are as soldiers in your members?a

James 4 cuts to the heart of the conflict within the Christian community, diagnosing its root cause as disordered desire and friendship with the world. James calls for radical humility before God, repentance from double-mindedness, and a cessation of slander against one another. The
