Acts 13:21-22

²¹and thereafter they asked for a king, and God did give to them Saul, son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years;

²²and having removed him, He did raise up to them David for king, to whom also having testified, he said, I found David, the [son] of Jesse, a man according to My heart, who shall do all My will.f

Acts 13 marks a pivotal hinge in the book of Acts: the first missionary journey of Paul and Barnabas, commissioned by the Holy Spirit through the church at Antioch. The chapter opens with the Spirit’s clear directive to set apart these two men for the work to which He has called the
