Matthew 24:1-2

¹As Jesus was leaving the Temple grounds, his disciples pointed out to him the various Temple buildings.a

²But he responded, “Do you see all these buildings? I tell you the truth, they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!”b

Matthew 24 is the Olivet Discourse, Jesus’s longest prophetic sermon, delivered from the Mount of Olives overlooking the temple. It begins with the disciples marveling at the temple buildings, and Jesus startling them by predicting its complete destruction. The chapter then unfol
