Psalms 107:10-14

¹⁰Some of you were locked in a dark cell, cruelly confined behind bars,

¹¹Punished for defying God''s Word, for turning your back on the High God''s counsel--

¹²A hard sentence, and your hearts so heavy, and not a soul in sight to help.

¹³Then you called out to GOD in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time.g

¹⁴He led you out of your dark, dark cell, broke open the jail and led you out.h

Psalm 107 opens the fifth and final book of the Psalter with a call to give thanks to the Lord for his steadfast love. The psalm presents four vivid portraits of people in desperate straits—wandering in the desert, imprisoned in darkness, sick from rebellion, and tossed on the storm
