Numbers 14:7-8

⁷and addressed the assembled People of Israel: "The land we walked through and scouted out is a very good land--very good indeed.

⁸If GOD is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land that flows, as they say, with milk and honey. And he''ll give it to us.a

Numbers 14 records Israel's catastrophic failure of faith at Kadesh-barnea. After hearing the discouraging report from ten of the twelve spies, the people rebel against God and Moses, refusing to enter the Promised Land. God's judgment is swift and severe: the entire generation, save Caleb and Joshua, will die in the wilderness, wandering for forty years. Despite Moses' intercession, the decree stands, highlighting the gravity of their unbelief and rebellion.
