²⁸But don''t think you''ve preserved your virtue simply by staying out of bed. Your heart can be corrupted by lust even quicker than your body. Those leering looks you think nobody notices--they also corrupt.z

Matthew 5 opens the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus' most concentrated teaching on the ethics of the kingdom of heaven. It begins with the Beatitudes, a series of blessings that invert worldly values, pronouncing favor on the poor in spirit, the meek, and the persecuted. Jesus then calls
