Proverbs 7:22-23

²²He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

²³Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

Proverbs 7 is a father's urgent warning against adultery, personified as the seductive “forbidden woman.” The chapter opens with a plea to treasure wisdom as a safeguard, then shifts into a vivid narrative: a young man lacking sense wanders near her corner at dusk, and she ensnares him with flattery
