Numbers 16:38

³⁸[even] the censers of these sinners against their own souls; and they have made them spread-out plates, a covering for the altar, for they have brought them near before Jehovah, and they are hallowed; and they are become a sign to the sons of Israel.'

In **Numbers 16**, we witness a dramatic challenge to Moses' and Aaron's leadership by Korah, Dathan, Abiram, and 250 prominent leaders. This rebellion questions God's chosen authority, accusing Moses and Aaron of exalting themselves above the community. God responds with swift and terrifying judgment, causing the earth to swallow the rebels and fire to consume the 250 leaders. Despite this, the people complain again, leading to a plague that kills 14,700, only stopped by Aaron's intercession, powerfully affirming God's unique appointment of the Aaronic priesthood.
