Romans 5:18-19

¹⁸So then as through one trespass, all men were condemned; even so through one act of righteousness, all men were justified to life.p

¹⁹For as through the one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the one, many will be made righteous.q

Romans 5 pivots from justification by faith alone (chapters 3-4) to the secure hope and new identity that flow from it. Paul argues that those declared righteous in Christ now stand in grace, rejoice in suffering, and are guaranteed final salvation. The chapter then contrasts Adam a
