Jude 1:8-9

⁸Yet in the same way, these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander celestial beings.h

⁹But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!”i

Jude 1 is a fiery, urgent letter written to warn believers about false teachers who have crept into the church unnoticed. Jude, the brother of James and half-brother of Jesus, calls his readers to contend for the faith once delivered to the saints. He draws heavily on Old Testament
