James 5:10-11

¹⁰Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of perseverance, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.i

¹¹Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and have seen the Lord in the outcome, and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.j

James 5 brings the letter to a powerful close with three movements: a stern warning to the wealthy who oppress the poor, a call to patient endurance until the Lord's return, and instructions for prayer and community care. The chapter pivots from judgment to hope, from the arrogance
