Genesis 21:6-7

⁶Sarah said, “God has made me laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me.”b

⁷She said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? For I have borne him a son in his old age.”

Genesis 21 marks a pivotal moment in Abraham's story with the long-awaited birth of Isaac, fulfilling God's covenant promise. This joy is quickly tempered by the expulsion of Hagar and Ishmael, a difficult decision driven by Sarah's jealousy and God's instruction to Abraham.
