Exodus 12:35-36

³⁵The children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing.i

³⁶The LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. They plundered the Egyptians.

Exodus 12 marks the pivotal institution of the Passover, a foundational event in Israel's history and a profound foreshadowing of Christ. God commands the Israelites to sacrifice a lamb, apply its blood to their doorposts, and eat a special meal, all to protect them from the tenth plague—the death of the firstborn.
