Genesis 18 presents a pivotal encounter where the Lord, appearing as three men, visits Abraham. This chapter highlights Abraham's hospitality, the reaffirmation of the promise of a son to Sarah despite her advanced age, and Sarah's incredulous laughter. The narrative then shifts to God's revelation of His plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, leading to Abraham's earnest intercession for the cities, particularly for the righteous within them. This passage beautifully illustrates God's intimate relationship with His chosen servant and His justice tempered with mercy.
