Psalm 59 is a desperate prayer for deliverance from violent enemies, attributed to David when Saul sent men to watch his house in order to kill him (1 Sam 19:11-17). The psalm oscillates between raw lament over the threat of bloodthirsty men and confident trust in God as a fortress
