Matthew 4:10-11

¹⁰Jesus'' refusal was curt: "Beat it, Satan!" He backed his rebuke with a third quotation from Deuteronomy: "Worship the Lord your God, and only him. Serve him with absolute single-heartedness."h

¹¹The Test was over. The Devil left. And in his place, angels! Angels came and took care of Jesus'' needs.i

Matthew 4 opens with Jesus being led into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, a direct confrontation that echoes Israel's testing in the desert. After forty days of fasting, Jesus resists each temptation by quoting Scripture, demonstrating his faithfulness where Israel failed
