Judges 13:1

¹And then the People of Israel were back at it again, doing what was evil in GOD''s sight. GOD put them under the domination of the Philistines for forty years.

Judges 13 introduces Samson's miraculous birth, a pivotal moment in Israel's cycle of apostasy and deliverance. After forty years of Philistine oppression, an angel announces to a barren couple, Manoah and his wife, that they will have a son who will begin to rescue Israel.
