Joshua 23:11-12

¹¹"Now, vigilantly guard your souls: Love GOD, your God.c

¹²Because if you wander off and start taking up with these remaining nations still among you (intermarry, say, and have other dealings with them),

In Joshua 23, Joshua delivers his farewell address to the leaders and people of Israel, reminding them of God's faithfulness in fulfilling His promises to give them the land. He exhorts them to remain loyal to the Lord, to obey His commands, and to avoid idolatry and intermarriage with the remaining Canaanite peoples. Joshua warns of severe consequences if they turn away from God, emphasizing that just as God fulfilled His promises of blessing, He will also fulfill His warnings of judgment.
