Deuteronomy 26:6-8

⁶The Egyptians abused and battered us, in a cruel and savage slavery.

⁷We cried out to GOD, the God--of-Our-Fathers: He listened to our voice, he saw our destitution, our trouble, our cruel plight.

⁸And GOD took us out of Egypt with his strong hand and long arm, terrible and great, with signs and miracle-wonders.

Deuteronomy 26 outlines two significant rituals for the Israelites as they prepare to enter the Promised Land: the presentation of firstfruits and the offering of the tithe. These acts of worship serve as a profound expression of gratitude and remembrance of God's deliverance from slavery in Egypt.
