2 Samuel 7:26

²⁶Then your reputation will flourish always as people exclaim, "The GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies is God over Israel!'' And the house of your servant David will remain sure and solid in your watchful presence.

2 Samuel 7 records the hinge moment in the Davidic covenant. King David, settled in his palace, proposes building a house for the Lord. The prophet Nathan initially approves, but God redirects the plan entirely: David will not build God a house; rather, God will build David a house
