2 Kings 19:2

²He sent Eliakim, who was in charge of the palace, Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, all of them dressed in rough burlap, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.

2 Kings 19 records the dramatic climax of the Assyrian threat against Jerusalem. Faced with Sennacherib's blasphemous taunts and overwhelming military might, King Hezekiah turns to the prophet Isaiah and, more importantly, to the Lord in fervent prayer. God responds with a powerful message of deliverance, promising to defend Jerusalem. The chapter culminates in the miraculous destruction of the Assyrian army by an angel of the Lord and the subsequent assassination of Sennacherib, demonstrating God's absolute sovereignty and faithfulness to His people.
