8שָׁוְא וּדְבַר־כָּזָב הַרְחֵק מִמֶּנִּי, רֵאשׁ וָעֹשֶׁר אַל־תִּתֶּן־לִי; הַטְרִיפֵנִי, לֶחֶם חֻקִּי׃d

8שָׁוְא וּדְבַר־כָּזָב הַרְחֵק מִמֶּנִּי, רֵאשׁ וָעֹשֶׁר אַל־תִּתֶּן־לִי; הַטְרִיפֵנִי, לֶחֶם חֻקִּי׃d
Proverbs 30 stands apart in the book as the “words of Agur son of Jakeh.” It is a collection of sayings that shift from the confident wisdom of Solomon to a posture of humility and awe before a God whose ways are beyond human comprehension. Agur opens with a confession of his own
