Proverbs 5:3-5

³For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:b

⁴But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.

⁵Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

Proverbs 5 is a father’s urgent warning to his son about the seductive danger of the “forbidden woman” — the adulteress whose words are smooth as honey but whose end is bitter as wormwood. The chapter contrasts the fleeting pleasure of illicit intimacy with the lasting satisfaction
