Luke 10:2-3

²And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.b

³Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves.c

Luke 10 pivots from the mission of the seventy-two to the defining question of eternal life. Jesus sends out disciples with urgency and vulnerability, then receives them back with joy. The chapter’s centerpiece is the parable of the Good Samaritan, which redefines “neighbor” beyond
