John 12:13-15

¹³So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”c

¹⁴And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,d

¹⁵“Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt!”e

John 12 marks a pivot point in the Gospel. Jesus is anointed in Bethany, enters Jerusalem as King, and then speaks of his coming death as a grain of wheat that must fall to bear fruit. The chapter closes with a summary of unbelief and a call to walk in the light. It is the hinge bet
