Genesis 34:2

²And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the land, saw her, he seized her and lay with her and humiliated her.

Genesis 34 recounts a dark and violent episode involving Jacob's family and the Hivite inhabitants of Shechem. Dinah, Jacob's daughter, is raped by Shechem, the son of Hamor, the city's ruler. In response, Dinah's brothers, Simeon and Levi, exact brutal revenge by slaughtering all the men of Shechem after they agree to be circumcised, a deceptive condition for marriage.
