Genesis 14:16

¹⁶Then he brought back all the possessions, and also brought back his kinsman Lot with his possessions, and the women and the people.

Genesis 14 recounts a dramatic military conflict involving several Mesopotamian kings who invade Canaan, capturing Lot and his possessions. Abram, upon hearing of his nephew's plight, mobilizes his trained men and allies to pursue the invaders, successfully rescuing Lot and recovering all the plunder. The chapter culminates with Abram's encounter with Melchizedek, the king-priest of Salem, to whom Abram offers a tithe, and his subsequent refusal of spoils from the king of Sodom, demonstrating his faith in God's provision.
