Proverbs 5:3-5

³For the lips of a harlot are like a honeycomb dropping, and her throat is smoother than oil.b

⁴But her end is bitter as wormwood, and sharp as a two-edged sword.

⁵Her feet go down into death, and her steps go in as far as hell.

Proverbs 5 is a father’s urgent warning to his son about the seductive danger of the “forbidden woman” — the adulteress whose words are smooth as honey but whose end is bitter as wormwood. The chapter contrasts the fleeting pleasure of illicit intimacy with the lasting satisfaction
