Jeremiah 32:42

⁴²For thus saith the Lord: As I have brought upon this people all this great evil: so will I bring upon them all the good that I now speak to them.

In Jeremiah 32, the prophet is imprisoned by King Zedekiah as the Babylonian army besieges Jerusalem. In a stunning act of faith, God commands Jeremiah to buy a field from his cousin Hanamel — a field in territory already under enemy control. The purchase is a prophetic sign: though
