Genesis 19:4

⁴But before they went to bed, the men of the city beset the house both young and old, all the people together.

Genesis 19 recounts the catastrophic destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, two cities notorious for their wickedness. It details Lot's reluctant hospitality to two angelic visitors, the depravity of the city's men who demand sexual access to the angels, and God's subsequent judgment. Lot and his family are dramatically rescued, but his wife perishes for looking back, and the chapter concludes with the shameful origins of the Moabites and Ammonites through Lot's daughters. The narrative underscores God's justice against sin and the perilous nature of compromise with evil.
