Romans 9:6-8

⁶But [it is] not as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel:d

⁷neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.e

⁸That is, it is not the children of the flesh that are children of God; but the children of the promise are reckoned for a seed.f

Romans 9 is one of the most theologically charged chapters in the New Testament. Paul, having spent eight chapters laying out the gospel of justification by faith alone, now turns to the anguishing question of why most of his fellow Jews have rejected their own Messiah. He does n
