Romans 11:5-6

⁵Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.e

⁶But if it is by grace, it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.f

Romans 11 is the climax of Paul's agonizing reflection on Israel's place in God's redemptive plan. Having argued that Israel's rejection of the gospel is neither total nor final, Paul now unveils the mystery of God's sovereign purposes: the hardening of part of Israel has opened
