John 8:23-24

²³And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.h

²⁴I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for except ye believe that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.i

John 8 opens with the dramatic scene of a woman caught in adultery, brought before Jesus as a trap. Jesus' response — "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her" — disarms her accusers and offers her not condemnation but a call to new life. The chapte
