Genesis 9:2

²And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens; with all wherewith the ground teemeth, and all the fishes of the sea, into your hand are they delivered.a

Genesis 9 marks a new beginning for humanity after the Great Flood, establishing a renewed covenant between God and Noah and his descendants. God blesses Noah and his sons, reiterating the command to multiply and fill the earth, and grants permission to eat meat. The chapter introduces the rainbow as a sign of God's promise never to destroy the earth by flood again. However, the narrative quickly turns to human sinfulness with Noah's drunkenness and Ham's disrespectful act, leading to a curse and a blessing that foreshadow future ethnic and national dynamics.
